In her address, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for technological innovation. “We are working to ensure that our youth have access to the necessary resources and training to thrive in the digital economy,” he said. The minister also announced new initiatives aimed at providing funding and mentorship for young tech entrepreneurs.

Several young innovators shared their success stories during the event, showcasing projects that have made significant impacts in their communities. One such project is a mobile application developed by a group of teenagers that helps connect local farmers with consumers, thereby reducing food waste and improving food security.

The conference also addressed the challenges faced by young people in the tech industry, including limited access to funding and inadequate infrastructure. Panelists discussed potential solutions, such as partnerships between the government and private sector to create more opportunities for youth engagement in technology.

Participants expressed optimism about the future, with many stating that they felt empowered to take action. “This conference has opened my eyes to the possibilities that technology can offer. I am motivated to start my own tech project that can help my community,” said 17-year-old participant, Chinedu Okafor.

The event concluded with a call to action for teenagers across Nigeria to actively participate in technology-related initiatives and to seek out educational resources that can enhance their skills. Organizers emphasized that the youth’s involvement in technology is crucial for the country’s development and competitiveness on a global scale.

As Nigeria continues to face various socio-economic challenges, the role of technology in driving change has become increasingly evident. Experts believe that by empowering the younger generation to leverage technology, Nigeria can unlock its full potential and pave the way for a more prosperous future.
