The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leadership claims it has yet to obtain a certified authentic copy of the court judgment relating to the party’s leadership issue in Kano State.
Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, the National Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), said this on Monday.

However, he noted that they have requested a copy of the verdict, which would allow them to take proper and informed action.

According to Newspot, the APC in Kano State has been embroiled in a leadership squabble that has factionalized the party, resulting in parallel primaries.

Former Kano state governor and Senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau, and his counterpart representing Kano North, Jubrin Barau, lead one faction loyal to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, while the other is led by former Kano state governor and Senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau, and his counterpart representing Kano North, Jubrin Barau.

Last Tuesday, the leadership crisis took a fresh turn when an Abuja High Court declared the congresses of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s faction of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State null and void.

Justice Hamza Muazu, the presiding court, validated the congresses held by Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s wing of the party in his ruling on Tuesday.

The congress that returned 17,908 members, according to Justice Muazu, was legal.

He also stopped Ganduje’s faction from naming a new chief executive.

During a press conference on Monday, Akpanudoedehe reacted to the event by saying that the national leadership will not rush to a conclusion on the topic, but will instead analyze the ruling and take appropriate action afterward.

“We are responsible party leaders, and we won’t like to comment on a judgment that we haven’t seen,” he said.

All I can say right now is that we’ll be requesting a Certified True Copy of the judgment. It’s something we haven’t seen yet. We need to research the decision.”

The APC CECPC secretary also dismissed claims that the national party dispatched two separate committees to Kano State to run the State Congress.
