Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said that being President of Nigeria has been a longtime desire of his. The APC leader further stated that he has told President Muhammadu Buhari of his desire to run for President in 2023.

After meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu told State House correspondents that he has the confidence, vision, and capacity to build on the President’s foundation.

Furthermore, the former Lagos State governor stated that he was at the Villa to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss general matters concerning Nigeria, including some of the APC’s worries as well as security concerns.

He, on the other hand, declined to comment on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s presidential ambitions or that of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, saying he would rather talk about issues than people.

“I answer that with a definite yes,” he answered when asked if he has notified President Buhari of his desire to run for president in 2023. I’ve notified the President of my plans, but Nigerians have yet to be informed.

“I’m still advising.” And I’m not averse to consulting. And I haven’t set a limit on the number of people I will consult. All you want to hear is the definitive assertion, which you will soon hear.

“You’ve had the truth from me that I’ve told Mr. President about my aspirations, and you shouldn’t expect any more.”

“That’s our business,” Tinubu remarked of the President’s response to his ambition. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He didn’t ask me to come to a halt. He didn’t tell me not to try and achieve my goal; it’s a lifelong goal.

“So, what makes you think I’m expecting him to say more?” You are in charge of a democratic regime, and you must adhere to democratic ideas, beliefs, and virtues. That’s all there is to it.”

“I don’t want to talk individuals now,” he remarked of being in the race on the APC platform with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, and others, especially as a number of support groups drum up support for all of them.

“I need to talk about myself.” I have the confidence, vision, and ability to rule, building on Mr. President’s foundation and making Nigeria a better place.

“In Lagos State, I did it with unwavering dedication. You’ve seen our ability to turn things around, and that’s exactly what we’re doing. You know, the past uncertainty and drift in the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) is being remedied, and you can’t deny that.

“Go back to the data on how many barrels of oil we were producing when we first got in and how many barrels we are producing now.” Even when we first arrived, we were unable to pay the counterpart money required to begin our rail line.

“Today, you have the convenience of having train from Lagos to Ibadan, Kaduna, and Kano State on the ambitious pipeline, and you see fantastic infrastructure.”

“I just got back from Azare and saw good roads; the number of people dying in car accidents is decreasing, except for the lack of compliance among many Nigerian drivers and VIOs.” Let us reflect, let us be intellectually curious about the past, the present, and what Nigeria’s future holds.”

“I will not answer that question until I have not lost my citizenship,” the former Lagos State governor stated, explaining his visit to State House. I came to visit the President on a variety of topics concerning Nigeria, including our political party, the APC, security concerns, achievement, and the New Year’s Agenda. That’s all I have to say about the new plan, which is that we need to hold party congresses.”

“You want my manifesto now?” he simply replied when asked what Nigerians should expect from him as president. “Not yet, not yet,” says the former governor of Lagos state .

Direct and indirect primaries are a source of contention.

“First, the National Assembly and the President must be encouraged to evaluate and review again,” the APC chieftain stated of the debate between direct and indirect primaries. We must cooperate with whatever they come up with in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

“What we face has no limitless elasticity because we must prepare and plan wisely, as well as manage our time effectively.” The ability of a leader to do what he has to do at the correct time is a fantastic roadmap to success.”

I’m a kingmaker who aspires to be king.

“About the headgear of a kingmaker, I’ve never seen the cap of a kingmaker before,” he stated in response to the suggestion that being a kingmaker suits him more than running for president. That is correct. And I’ve never seen it written anywhere in a country’s rule book that a kingmaker can’t be a king until he commits murder.

“So, whatever your quality is, it’s your opinion.” For my part, I’d like to pursue my goals without the designation of kingmaker. You can compose your books and stories from your own point of view.”

“I’m not a spokesperson for the party; the President is the party’s leader,” he remarked of the party’s convention. So, expect convention; perhaps, if it adds to your or the other party’s concern, it will be beneficial to us. We understand, and we’ll take care of it.”
