After the poisoning, another 28 Russian servicemen are in intensive care, with hundreds more suffering from’severe diseases’ as a result of drinking poisoned vodka handed to them by locals.

After failing to encircle Kyiv in the first six weeks of the war, Russia is said to be writing off the troops as “non-combat casualties” as it refocuses its military effort on fighting in the Donbas region of east Ukraine.

The act of sabotage is the latest in a campaign of civilian warfare waged by Ukrainians in defiance of Russian attempts to take control of their towns.
