Chief Sam Nkire, a member of the National Caucus of the All Progressives Congress APC, has urged party members to nominate a “strategist” as the party’s National Chairman during the upcoming National Convention.
Nkire made the statement in Abuja on Sunday, which he personally signed.
“The choice we select for APC National Chairman at the upcoming National Convention will make or break our hopes of returning to power in 2023,” he stated.
“The APC chairman for the 2023 election must be a guy or woman who is well-known across the country, a strategist, a warrior, and a winner.”

“Now that the entire world has witnessed our opponents, the PDP, play the game by electing Senator Ayu as its Natural Chairman, it is up to us to play the joker.”
“The ruling party might lose to our opponents, the People’s Democratic Party, if we don’t get our acts together by appointing the proper guy or woman for the job,” Nkire added, quoting President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Abia-born politician also stated that there was no reason why the ruling party could not retain power in the 2019 general elections if party officials heeded President Buhari’s recommendation to include the majority of members in determining who represents the party in the polls.
