1-4 Everton Liverpool win the Merseyside derby thanks to Mohamed Salah’s double.

Mohamed Salah (2), Jordan Henderson, and Diogo Jota seal Liverpool’s largest away Merseyside derby win in 39 years with free highlights and match report; Everton’s goal came from Demarai Gray, although the Toffees’ winless streak in the Premier League now stands at eight games.

Liverpool avenged last season’s Merseyside derby defeat with a commanding 4-1 victory against Everton at Goodison Park, with Mohamed Salah scoring twice.

Everton had taken four points off the then-reigning Premier League champions last season, and had inflicted a season-ending injury on the then-reigning champions.

On Liverpool’s last journey over Stanley Park, talisman Virgil van Dijk, the visitors utilized the 239th meeting with their opponents to viciously exorcise some demons.

At a stunned Goodison, where a handful of the home crowd sought an early escape, captain Jordan Henderson curled Liverpool into a nine-point lead before Salah put the visitors two up inside 19 minutes.

Those who departed early missed Everton grab a lifeline via Demarai Gray (38), but it failed to inspire a second-half Toffees comeback as Salah doubled his tally (64), before Diogo Jota’s astonishing fourth (79) sealed a comfortable Liverpool triumph.

With the win, Jurgen Klopp’s team keeps pace with Chelsea and Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, while Everton sit in 14th place, without a win in eighth, and manager Rafa Benitez’s pressure mounts even more.
