After Spurs’ European humiliation on Tuesday, when they fell to Slovenian minnows NS Mura – the Europa Conference League’s lowest-ranked team – Conte revealed just how large a task he faces.

After the humiliation, Conte was compelled to concede that his squad’s level is “certainly not so high” and that he has worries about its limitations.

Four years after being fired by Chelsea and just four months after leaving Inter Milan, the Italian elected to return to the Premier League.

“I’m having a great time with it,” she says.

“I never expected to miss my job after only four months.” It happened, and I’m delighted and proud to be here; in Tottenham, I know I’ll be able to work in the way I want, and I’m loving every minute of it.”

Even if England captain Harry Kane is battling for goal-scoring form in the Premier League, one of the perks of managing Spurs is having Harry Kane to work with.
Conte was desperate to get Kane to Stamford Bridge during his time there, but now that he has worked with him closely, he claims he has a new admiration for the 28-year-old.

“I have to be honest, Harry, scoring is crucial, but I am really delighted with Kane’s performance against Leeds and Everton,” he remarked.

“I never expected to miss my job after only four months.” It occurred, and I’m delighted and proud to be here, in Tottenham. “He is a striker with enormous potential, a world-class striker, but it is very difficult to find a guy with his talent who works as hard as he does, and he is a fantastic player, and I am very happy to be his coach,” he said.

“You can talk about a guy and say he’s good from the outside, but you can only grasp the value of a player when you train them, and Kane is a top, top player.”
