Google’s “experimental” answer to Bing is finally complete and you can join the waiting list.

Google says Bard can “increase your productivity, accelerate your ideas, and spark your curiosity. You can ask Bard for tips that can help you reach your goal of outlining and inspiring creativity: The app’s “ability to preserve context is intentionally limited at this time.”

The waiting list is open to anyone over the age of 18 and Bard is available in English only (update:
in the US and UK) for the time being. Unlike ChatGPT’s collaboration with Bing, Bard doesn’t seem to be integrated with Google Search. Some results have a “Google it” button that launches the usual Google search page for him.

Google Bard has been released. Google says you can now join the waitlist to try out its generative AI chatbot on its newly launched website bard.google.com. The company relies on “Bard” rather than the previously used “Google Assistant” chatbot branding. Not much at the moment, apart from a registration link and FAQ.

Google’s blog post refers to Bard as an “early experiment,” and there are caveats to this project. The Bard’s website has a light blue ‘experiment’ label to the right of the logo, and the blog post states, ‘Big language models don’t always get it right. A disclaimer below the demo input field warns that “Bard may display inaccurate or offensive information that does not reflect the views of Google.”

Microsoft has been criticized for taking a very aggressive stance on AI adoption, even cutting its AI ethics team. Trying to be more cautious, Google says: We use human feedback and ratings to improve our system. We also build guardrails, such as limiting the number of interactions in a dialogue, to ensure that dialogue is informative and on-topic. ”
