On Thursday, October 20, 2020, the former Anambra State Governor visited several areas of the state affected by the devastating flood.
In a video that went viral, the front-runner presidential candidate was seen being ferried on a canoe propelled by community youths.
When Obi arrived in the community, the affected victims, mostly youths, greeted him with cheers and excitement.
Peter Obi had earlier shared the news of visit to Benue State, on his Twitter page.
Obi’s tweet read: “I am in Benue State visiting and commiserating with the flood disaster victims. My solidarity and prayers are with them. -PO.”
This comes just a day after Obi paid a visit to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to express his condolences over the flooding.
The Labor Party Presidential Candidate, during his visit, urged all presidential candidates to suspend their campaign activities in order to help the victims of the country’s flooding.
