Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a 20% increase in salaries for civil servants.
Others who will benefit from the new structure effective January 1, 2023 are local government departments, local government development departments, and members of the State Universal Basic Education Commission.
This was announced in a statement by Lagos State Service Chief Hakeem Muri Okunorra on Monday.
“Please also note that the January 2023 salary will be paid together with the March salary and the February 2023 outstanding balance will be paid together with April 2023,” the statement said.
“This action once again demonstrates the government’s commitment to the well-being of its employees. Civil servants are encouraged to show more dedication and commitment to providing quality services to the state’s citizens.” .
“Therefore, all accountants should be aware of the contents of this circular and exercise the care it deserves throughout the service.”
