When the Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour paid a visit to the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, he publicly endorsed Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the incumbent governor of Lagos State and member of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

The top monarch in the state, who complimented the LP flag bearer for entering the race despite having no need to do so, declared his support for Sanwo-Olu, who he predicted will triumph in the March 18 poll.

Akiolu insisted that Rhodes-Vivour running for office was acceptable and wished him luck in his future endeavors.

Rhodes-Vivour had a promising future, but the monarch predicted he would lose this election.

Despite my full support for Sanwo-Olu, please don’t give up after this match, he pleaded with Rhodes-Vivour.

Sanwo-accomplishments Olu’s as governor have been praised by Akiolu, who pointed out that when he took office, the state was going through its most trying period.

I don’t revere heroes or spread rumors. The future is up to you, Gbadebo. You won’t be killed by God, and it’s okay to disagree. These competitors are all my kids.

“I ask God to assist us improve the state, in the name of the power in this palace. I can’t possibly detest the Igbo because they are some of my closest friends.

The king allayed the locals’ worries that there would be election-related violence.

By God’s grace, he said, there would be no issues. I’m just taking a look at all the false prophets. God is in control, and Tinubu will make obvious progress within the next six months.

Akiolu urged every state citizen to exercise their right to vote peacefully and in person.

He added that most politicians only cared about their own interests and not the improvement of serving society or the populace.
