The ‘North East Business Communities for Atiku 2023’ political party has praised Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria’s former vice president, for accepting their invitation to run for president in 2023.
In a press statement sent to newsmen in Gombe, the group’s national chairman Abubakar Jibrin and national coordinator Ali Bappayo Adamu expressed their gratitude.
According to them, when he visited the state recently to inaugurate the group’s state secretariat in Gombe, the former vice president agreed to join the race.
They said that Atiku is currently the most qualified contender for the lofty seat, citing his “wonderful experience in politics, governance, and business,” and promised that the group would purchase nomination forms for him in the upcoming election.
They bemoaned the fact that the country’s north-eastern region had been politically marginalized and had never produced a federal government leader since the country’s dissolution.
